Delegates at the London Bullion Market Association's annual gathering in Sorrento, Italy expect gold to hit $5,013 an ounce within 12 months, up from around $4,170 today.
The industry poll also sees silver jumping to $97 an ounce from about $61, with platinum rising to $1,914 and palladium to $1,415. A year ago, delegates at the same conference had expected gold to be around $4,980 by now.
Gold is down about 3% this year on expectations of higher-for-longer interest rates, after a 64% surge in 2025 — its biggest yearly gain since 1979 — which included a record $5,595 an ounce in January.
