Gold eased to around $4,180 an ounce on Monday after touching a one-week high, as a firm US dollar weighed on bullion, Trading Economics reports via TradingView. The dollar held near its strongest level in 18 months amid Middle East tensions, while investors looked ahead to US consumer and producer price reports and retail sales data.
Traders have scaled back expectations for a Fed rate hike this month, now seeing less than a 20% chance of an increase but an 85% probability of one by December, according to CME's FedWatch tool.
